Melissa & Evangelo, a lovely couple from Canada and big fans of Crete selected this fabulous Greek island to combine their wedding event with their summer vacation and honeymoon in Greece. To honor the Greek roots of the groom, they had a religious wedding at the Cathedral of Chania, a marvellous church at the pedestrian area near the Old Town. The majority of the guests travelled all the way from Canada and they were thrilled to find a place of sunshine, amazing beaches, delicious local food and friendly people.
The reception was held on a beach club allowing everyone to dine and dance in the open air under the stars with the sandy beach only a few metres away. The decoration included bouquets of white flowers as well as hanging lanterns from the palm trees. The traditional wish book was given a personalized and fun twist with instant pictures taken by the guests on their own, by using the polaroid cameras that were placed on the table with the treats. The highlight of the evening was a Cretan dance group with traditional handmade costumes that presented an impressive show of local dances but also invited everyone on the dance floor teaching them some basic steps. Everyone loved that happening and this was the beginning for a long night celebration with lots of dancing and fun.
